With the cool breeze of golden autumn and the fragrance of osmanthus in the air, the Double Ninth Festival has arrived. Earlier, medical institutions across our district organized large-scale free medical service events, bringing high-quality and convenient medical resources and services right to the residents' doorsteps.

In Shihua Sanjian Community, Jiaochuan Subdistrict, the medical team from the Lianhua Branch of the District People's Hospital Medical Group provided patient and meticulous services such as disease diagnosis, health consultations, and wellness guidance to community residents, addressing the health needs of the elderly population.

"My legs have been hurting for years, and it's not easy for me to get to the hospital. Today, the experts came right to my 'doorstep’, examined me, and even taught me many exercise methods. I'm truly grateful!" expressed an elderly visitor emotionally. He added that it is inconvenient for the elderly to go to the hospital, and having so many Party member experts come to the community to provide free medical check-ups made everyone feel particularly warm and reassured.

"Auntie, have you been taking your hypertension medication regularly? Although your condition isn't particularly severe, stopping the medication when you feel fine and only taking it when uncomfortable can increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and reduce the effectiveness of future treatments." At the free clinic event, medical staff conducted detailed inquiries and diagnoses for common chronic conditions among the elderly, such as hypertension, diabetes, and coronary heart disease. For any issues identified during the check-ups, they provided personalized treatment advice and medication guidance, reminding the elderly to pay attention to their diet, engage in appropriate exercise, and maintain good daily routines.

In addition to common medical services, the event also focused on the mental health of the elderly, offering screenings for emotional issues such as depression and anxiety, along with psychological counseling. ENT doctors provided ear, nose, and throat examinations and related health education. "As we age, our hearing declines, our legs and feet aren't as nimble, and our memory isn't what it used to be. The free clinic at our 'doorstep' not only addresses some of our health consultation needs but also makes us feel cared for as seniors," said Uncle Dai, a retired teacher from the Shiqifang Community.

Medical staff also distributed health knowledge manuals and materials explaining family doctor sign-ups on-site. Through brochures and fun games, they educated the public on Alzheimer's disease prevention, providing the elderly with comprehensive and multi-level health services to help them and their families enhance their health management awareness.
