In anticipation of the upcoming rainy season, typhoon season, and extreme heat, the Luoto Subdistrict recently launched safety awareness campaigns, flood prevention exercises, and fire drills to strengthen its safety defenses.
At the dormitory of a construction site in Jian'gang Lake Community, the Luoto Subdistrict held a themed lecture for "Construction Site Safety Month", screening an educational video on construction safety. The video reenacted past accidents, analyzed their causes, and emphasized prevention, detection, and emergency response.
The working staff from the Luoto Subdistrict Urban Construction Office engaged workers in a Q&A session on common safety issues like edge protection, working at heights, and electrical safety. "Thank you for coming from afar to build a beautiful district of Zhenhai," said a representative. They urged workers to stay vigilant about safety, ensuring they "go to work happily and return home safely".
Emergency teams used sandbags and waterproof barriers to seal underground garage entrances, simulating flood prevention and testing drainage pumps. Inspectors cleared clogged drains in low-lying areas of Luocheng Huayuan Phase II during a typhoon response drill organized by the Jiushufang Community. The exercise tested flood contingency plans and improved property teams' coordination.
The Jinyi Community also conducted fire drills with property managers, focusing on high-rise fire risks. Combining theory and hands-on practice, trainees learnt escape techniques and initial firefighting skills. "Multi-scenario drills enhance coordinated fire response," said a community representative, vowing to regularize safety training to protect people’s lives and property.
