In the morning of April 18, the Zhendian Community was bustling. At the launching ceremony of the first batch of elevator installation projects in the Jiaochuan Subdistrict, with a golden key symbolizing a new life delivered to the owners of the Zhendian Community, the first batch of elevator installation projects in old residential buildings in our district was officially delivered and put into use.
"In the past, I had to climb stairs up and down five or six times a day, and sometimes I had to hold a child, which was very exhausting." Resident He Xing lives on the sixth floor, imagining the scene of using an elevator to go up and down in the future, she smiled happily, "with an elevator, it will make our lives more convenient and heart-warming."
At the event, community owners eagerly entered the new elevator to test the experience of convenience of a new life.
"We have selected materials with good insulation performance based on the actual situation of the community, and fully considered the needs of residents in the site selection, truly serving the people," said a person in charge of the construction unit of the project.
The ceremony delivered four elevators, Unit 1-2 of Building 1 and Unit 1-2 of Building 2, to the Zhendian Community in the Jiaochuan Subdistrict in one go. "Previously, we installed them one by one after consultation, but this time we installed them in bulk after consultation. This is a unified process, standard, and renovation model that we have explored in the installation of elevators in old residential buildings, from single coordinated installation to batch installation, which not only saves costs but also makes it more convenient for the people," said a relevant person in charge of the District Construction and Transportation Bureau.
Since the promotion of elevator installation in 2018, our district has installed a total of 41 elevators for old residential buildings.
For the next step, the District Construction and Transportation Bureau will continue to follow the principle of "homeowners as the main body, community guidance, government support, friendly consultation, market operation, and joint efforts" to provide door-to-door service guidance for unit buildings that are willing to install elevators, and promote the realization of the number of single buildings "willing to install elevators as much as possible" that meets the conditions for installing elevators, so that more residents in Zhenhai, especially the elderly, can bid farewell to the "climbing era" and enjoy the convenience of going up and down stairs by elevator.
