In the afternoon of February 29, the first meeting and deployment and launching meeting of the fourth national cultural relics census leading group in our district was held to convey the spirit of the first meeting of the national, provincial, and municipal fourth national cultural relics census leading group, review the implementation plan and publicity work plan of our district's census, and mobilize and deploy tasks for the next step.

At the meeting, it's pointed out that the census of cultural relics is a major survey of national conditions and strength, an important guarantee of national cultural security, and an important foundational work for comprehensively promoting the high-quality development of cultural relics. We should take the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guidance, comprehensively implement the deployments assigned by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee, and the Ningbo Municipal People's Government, deeply learn the great significance of the census, clarify the new trend and new tasks of the census, promote systematic protection, earnestly strengthen the sense of cherishing, respecting, and taking responsibility, so as to let cultural relics and heritage be revitalized and sustainably inherited in the long river of history.

The meeting emphasized the need for top-level design and down-to-earth implementation. On the basis of strengthening political concepts, mission responsibilities, and protection awareness, we need to fully consider the actual situation at the grassroots level, systematically plan and coordinate the progress, and pragmatically organize and promote the census work with higher standards and stricter requirements. We need to protect cultural relics in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, while also developing and opening up. By clarifying the focus of work, we ensure the quality of the census, adhere to the principle of ensuring that all inspections are conducted, carry forward the historical context, and promote the revitalization of cultural relics. Let the census become a major action to improve the cultural literacy of the whole population and nourish the construction of spiritual civilization. We must not only focus on the current situation, but also take a long-term perspective, strengthen the cultural relics protection team, comprehensively deploy the census system, enhance the awareness of cultural relics protection in the whole society, lay a solid foundation for building a cultural heritage protection, inheritance and utilization system with Zhenhai characteristics in our district, and strive to build our district into a cultural city with distinct spiritual character, full humanistic charm, and diverse lifestyle tastes.

This cultural relic census, in accordance with the unified deployment of the State Council, started from November 2023 and will end in June 2026, covering all types of immovable cultural relics within the entire district. It will review the immovable cultural relics that have been recognized and registered, and investigate, recognize, and register newly discovered immovable cultural relics.
