Location Advantages

Zhenhai has been known as the "Gateway of East Zhejiang". Zhenhai is located in the middle of the coastline of mainland China, and in the south wing of the Yangtze River Delta region, bordering the Zhoushan Islands to the east, the Ningbo-Shaoxing Plain on the west, the Beilun Port in the south, and the Hangzhou Bay in the north, and is a close neighboring city of Shanghai separated only by a strip of water. Since ancient times, it has always been a main port for foreign exchanges and the starting port of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. The Zhenhai Port is a major component of the Ningbo Port, with an annual throughput capacity of over 12 million tons and the largest 50,000-ton liquid chemical dedicated berth in China. After the completion of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge and the landing of the Zhoushan Sea Crossing Bridge in Zhenhai, a new geographical dynamic of Zhenhai was fundamentally created, making Zhenhai fully integrated into the 2-hour traffic circle of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo. On January 29, 2013, the Zhenhai District of Ningbo City was selected as one of the first batch of national smart city pilots by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China.

Geographic Location

The Ningbo Bulk Cargo Sea Rail Intermodal Logistics Hub Port is located in the Houhaitang area on the north side of the old urban area of Zhenhai, with a total area of 9.5 square kilometers, of which the port area is about 2.5 square kilometers. It starts from the Yongjiang River in the east, reaching the Houhaitang in the south, the Weihai Road in the west, and the East China Sea in the north.

Climatic Conditions

Zhenhai is located in the subtropical monsoon climate zone, which is mild and humid, with four distinct seasons, sufficient sunshine, abundant rainfall and long frost-free period. The annual average temperature is 16.3 ℃, and the lowest daily average temperature remains stable above 10 ℃, lasting for 231 to 235 days. The annual effective average accumulated temperature ranges from 4,920 ℃ to 5,030 ℃. The frost-free period is 237 days; the annual precipitation is about 1,310 to 1,370 millimeters; there are 148 rainy days. The annual sunshine duration is 1,944.3 hours, and the sunshine rate is 44%. Typhoons may come in summer and autumn; low temperatures and rainy weather in spring, and cloudy and rainy weather in autumn.

The introduction of water supply from the Dinghai Line can meet construction and consumption needs, while the introduction of power supply from the Canghai Line can meet construction and consumption needs. The water supply and power supply facilities are complete, making it very convenient for enterprises to consume water and electricity.

Traffic Conditions

The logistics hub port is located at the estuary of the Yongjiang River in the northeast of the Ningbo City, 20 kilometers away from the city center, the Ningbo Lishe International Airport and the entrance of the Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway. The railway is directly connected to the Zhenhai Port storage area, and the National Highway 329 is connected to the national highway transportation network; the completed Hangzhou Bay Bridge, the Zhoushan Sea Crossing Bridge under construction, the Ningbo Belt Expressway and other large-scale transportation hubs have expanded a broad space for port logistics to radiate the "Yangtze River Delta" region. At the same time, the south side of the logistics hub port is located in the old urban area of Zhenhai, and its north side is next to the Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company and the Ningbo Chemical Industry Zone, which is the main port industrial zone of the Zhenhai Port, providing favorable urban services and industrial development support for the logistics hub port area.

Railway Integration

The railway within the logistics hub port area is directly connected to the port operation area. According to the "Minutes of Meetings on Accelerating the Construction and Development of Railway in Ningbo" signed between the Ningbo City and the Ministry of Railways of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Railways of the People's Republic of China will support Ningbo in vigorously developing sea rail intermodal transportation, accelerating the construction of Ningbo railway rear channels and belt lines, improving the Ningbo railway network, and forming a hub node for the intersection of three railway channels stretching north, middle, and south. The logistics hub port will integrate the resources of the Hongzhen branch line of the railway, so as to improve its operational capacity, and enter a new stage in the construction of the inland transportation network.

Industrial development has been promoted and upgraded. Zhenhai has accelerated the construction of a "122" trillion level industrial cluster, joined the list of high-quality development demonstration zones for the provincial manufacturing industrial development, and recognized as a provincial information economy development demonstration zone. The added value of industries above designated scale has increased by 2.3% year-on-year. The output value of the green petrochemical industrial cluster has reached 166.29 billion yuan. Zhenhai has promoted the "5112" digital transformation project, and the added value of core industries in the digital economy has increased by 3.3% year-on-year. Four enterprises have been included on the list of provincial-level digital workshops, and 15 automation and intelligence projects have been completed. Zhenhai also boasts 2 national manufacturing single champion enterprises, 5 outstanding "little giant" enterprises, 1 provincial "invisible champion" enterprise, and 5 new enterprises certified to use the "Quality Label". The construction industry has developed steadily and healthily, achieving an added value of 4.99 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 4.1%. Zhenhai has deeply carried out the "113" service industry development action, realizing an added value of 36.59 billion yuan in the service industry, with a year-on-year increase of 5.4%, making the service industry account for 35.5% of the GDP. The operating revenue of the manufacturing service industry has reached 126.16 billion yuan, increased by 7.2% year on year. The logistics hub port has become a pilot project for improving quality and efficiency among the provincial logistics parks; the construction of the Zhaobao Intelligent Manufacturing Valley has started, and three projects, including the Transfar's Ningbo Supply Chain Center, have been included in the provincial major project plan. The cargo throughput of sea-river intermodal transportation has exceeded 4.68 million tons, setting a new high record in history. The tourism revenue of 8.36 billion yuan has been completed. Zhenhai has implemented the "2336" rural industry revitalization action, carried out the rectification to resolutely stop any attempt to use the cropland for purposes other than grain production, increased the planting area of late rice by 3,000 mu, and started the construction of large-scale modern pig farms. The development of digital agriculture has accelerated, having created 8 places for the demonstration of digital farms, and established 2 bases for the demonstration of integrating agriculture and tourism. The team of agricultural makers has continued to grow, and the reputation of the "Zhenmi" brand has further been improved. Zhenhai has been actively developing provincial-level modern agricultural parks, and has successfully created a national agricultural product quality and safety zone and a demonstration zone for full mechanization of major crop production.
