In the afternoon of September 9, leaders of the Zhenhai District inspected tidal-flat areas and seawalls in the Zhenhai District on strengthening the management of aquaculture, implementing the inspection of areas prohibited from aquaculture. Relevant persons in charge of the Zhenhai District Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Zhenhai District Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, and the Zhenhai District Ecological Environment Sub-bureau attended the inspection.

On that day, the delegation paid visits to tidal-flat areas and seawalls in the Zhaobaoshan Sub-district, Jiaochuan Sub-district and Xiepu Town. It’s emphasized by district leaders that all towns (sub-districts) should implement territorial management responsibilities, strengthen daily supervision, focus on areas prone to violations and illegal problems in tidal-flat areas, strengthen daily inspection and eliminate illegal aquaculture activities in a timely manner. Law enforcement departments, including the Zhenhai District Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Zhenhai District Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, should strengthen law enforcement and supervision and management by combining regular and irregular inspections, water inspection and land inspection and so on.

According to the Notice of the General Office of Ningbo Municipal People’s Government on Printing and Distributing the Planning of Aquaculture Water Areas and Tidal-flat Areas in Ningbo (2017-2030), the non-aquaculture area, limited aquaculture area and aquaculture area are strictly defined accordingly. The coastal areas of our district are prohibited to be used for aquaculture, and no unit or individual may use the tidal-flat areas in the jurisdiction to engage in fishery and aquaculture activities. Zhenhai has been strictly cracking down on illegal aquaculture and fully implementing working requirements of higher authorities on “one strike and three rectifications”, and cleaning up and dismantling illegal fishery and aquaculture facilities.
