The bird’s-eye-view of the Zhenhai District University for the Aged

The Zhenhai District Natural Resources Planning Sub-bureau has issued the permit for the planning of the project of reconstruction and expansion of the District University for the Aged.

The projects is situated in the southwest of the District Cultural Square and adjacent to the Shengli Road in the West and the Renmin Road in the south, covering a total land area of about 5,641 square meters and a total building area of about 5,799 square meters with 3,381 square meters newly expanded and about 2,418 square meters retained. As there are historical relics such as Wu Jie’s former residence, Zhu Renfang’s house, Xu’s house, and Fu’s house and cultural sites such as the Great Hall of the People, the project takes the relationship between the buildings and onsite environment into full consideration in the project design. At the same time, the sloping roof is adopted to echo Wu Jie’s former residence, and the facade adopts Chinese architectural characteristics to integrate the new buildings into the overall environment. The design of the landscape on the south side of the site emphasizes the combination of green environment and paving, and the interplay of the campus square and green paving helps improve the environment quality of the campus and beautify the urban interface.

As is introduced, the reconstruction and expansion project of the District University for the Aged would last for 20 months. After completion, it will effectively integrate and optimize the education resources for the elderly in the Zhenhai District, strengthen the guarantee of cultural and sports education for the elderly at home, and greatly meet the learning needs of the elderly.
