On September 13, the First Zhejiang Industrial Control Network Security Skill Competition, a warm-up competition of with “no smoke of gunpowder”, was held in Zhenhai while the Zhejiang & Ningbo Week for Network Security Publicity 2020 is about to kick off.

With the advent of the industrial internet era, open industrial operating system is not only the engine of intelligent manufacturing, but also the top priority of network security protection. The Competition is organized by the Cyberspace Administration of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, undertaken by the Cyberspace Administration of CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee, and supported by the Cyberspace Administration of CPC Zhenhai District Committee and the Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company.

The Competition adopts the form of simulation environment. Relying on the industrial control security test field resource platform of the Ningbo Industrial Internet Research Institute, the Competition provides simulated industrial control automation comprehensive scene test questions, and comprehensively tests the network security technology level of the participants.

As is learnt, 34 participating teams cover the fields of electric power, communication, chemical industry, water conservancy, scientific research institutes, colleges and universities, and network security technology enterprises, and 3 experts and scholars in the field were invited for evaluation. Meanwhile, in order to deepen the professional background, the network level is scheduled to open level by level according to certain fixed time. The participating teams break through level by level, and the difficulty is increasing step by step. This will not only help to test the skills of the participating teams, but also deepen the training of network security professionals in the field of industrial control.

“The main purpose of the Competition is to protect the industrial control system from being attacked, so as to ensure public security of the macro industrial environment.” The person in charge of the Zhejiang Wangli Network Security Technology Co., Ltd., a supporting unit of the Competition, said onsite at the Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company’s Gymnasium.
